ABOUT NOAH
NOAH MOND (Stony Brook, NY) is a 23 year-old bass and Master’s student in Kevin Short’s studio at the Maryland Opera Studio at the University of Maryland. He received his Bachelor of Musical Arts in Voice Performance with a minor in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music, where he studied with Amy Jarman. He has been seen at many prominent music festivals and opera companies, most recently at the Des Moines Metro Opera and Chautauqua Opera Conservatory. This year he won the Encouragement Award at the Opera Index Vocal Competition and the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition and as well as first place in the Shirley Rabb Winston Classical Voice Scholarship. He has worked on multiple opera world premieres, including his operatic directorial debut in April 2022 on Jason Brauer’s La Muñeca Menor. His performance of Juliana Hall’s AHAB, a monodrama, was commended by Hall for his “stellar singing and such wonderful dramatic portrayal of the character.”
